A01-Why is the harness important?

The electrical aspect dissipates easily if there is not a good conductive path. The conductive paths are:

  1. The harness
  2. The gap between the harness and skin - there should be a tight fit. Normally, (e.g. TENS pads) there is a conductive layer on the contact pad. This can be achieved with device straps by using a conductive gel.
  3. The skin is a major aspect where conductivity can be lost: dry skin is common in older people and also in some “dishwashing” hands. Sweat helps solve this- as does conductive gel.
  4. Internally the signal is transmitted through:
    •  Acupuncture meridians (into the organs if the route is clear- these are very important as they are the low resistance path)
    • Through the “cell soup” - the extra cellular fluid which is conductive (so good mineralisation is important)
    • Through organs (these cells also live in cell soup)
    • Through the circulation system

Overall...

  • Using a harness correctly is important in giving clients the best treatments
  • A high quality harness is important
  • A fully functioning, regularly tested harness is important
  • Good skin contact is important
