A01-Why is the harness important?
The electrical aspect dissipates easily if there is not a good conductive path. The conductive paths are:
- The harness
- The gap between the harness and skin - there should be a tight fit. Normally, (e.g. TENS pads) there is a conductive layer on the contact pad. This can be achieved with device straps by using a conductive gel.
- The skin is a major aspect where conductivity can be lost: dry skin is common in older people and also in some “dishwashing” hands. Sweat helps solve this- as does conductive gel.
- Internally the signal is transmitted through:
- Acupuncture meridians (into the organs if the route is clear- these are very important as they are the low resistance path)
- Through the “cell soup” - the extra cellular fluid which is conductive (so good mineralisation is important)
- Through organs (these cells also live in cell soup)
- Through the circulation system
Overall...
- Using a harness correctly is important in giving clients the best treatments
- A high quality harness is important
- A fully functioning, regularly tested harness is important
- Good skin contact is important
